A view to essential tremor

Essential tremor associated with both the motor and non-motor symptoms, is the most common movement disorder in the world. Although it may be seen at any age, its incidence increases with age. Most of the patients with essential tremor are misdiagnosed and loose the cahnce of proper treatment.
The pathophsiology of essential tremor has not been completely understood yet. To achieve more satisfactory theraupatic results, early diagnosis and proper treatment options should be provided for the suffering patients.
In this review article, the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, clinical characteristics, current medical and surgical treatment of essential tremor will be discussed.

Esansiyel tremora bir bakış

Hem motor, hem de motor olmayan semptomların görüldüğü esansiyel tremor dünyada en sık görülen hareket bozukluğudur. Bu bozukluk her yaşta görülebilmekle birlikte insidansı yaşla artmaktadır. Esansiyel tremorlu hastaların çoğu doğru tanımlanamamakta ve uygun tedavi şansını kaçırmaktadırlar.
Hastalığın patofizyolojisi halen tam anlamıyla anlaşılamamıştır. Daha tatmin edici tedavi sonuçları elde etmek için, hastalıktan muzdarip hastalar için erken tanı ve uygun tedavi koşulları sağlanmalıdır.
Bu derleme yazısında esansiyel tremorun epidemiyolojisi, patogenezi, tanısı, klinik özellikleri, yeni medikal ve cerrahi tedavileri tartışılacaktır.
